Underwriting :: Video Underwriter Messages

The most effective way to show your support of local television is through a video underwriter message. The style and parameters are similar to PBS or Public Radio sponsor messages. We wish to keep the feeling of a non-commercial station, while clearly acknowledging our supporters. If you are a business, think of this as a public relations expense rather than an ad.

Part of GrassRoots TV12’s mission is to help publicize and promote other local non-profits. If you have a favorite non-profit organization, we encourage you to use your message to help that group, and demonstrate that you or your business believes in its work and mission. Such a message might be: “Alpine Sports, a supporter of the Roaring Fork Help a Friend Foundation, encourages you to strengthen our community by volunteering your time to Help a Friend.” Your logo and address could be included with photos of the organization doing its work. In this way, your favorite charity, GrassRoots TV12, and your business all win with one gift of support.

Message Content: The visuals may be a logo, still photos or simple video of a business location or service activity. All verbal information must be factual, with no call to action. Phone number, location, web site may be included. The viewer should feel affection for your support, and not feel like they are being pitched.

Production Rate: GrassRoots TV12 will produce underwriter messages for $75 per hour. An effective, elegant and inexpensive message can be produced in an hour if you e-mail us your logo and a script of your voice-over message. We’ll do the rest. An up-front commitment of $1,000 earns you two free hours of message production.
