Aspen Wine Revue

Producer and show host Bernie Grauer enjoys quaffing wine and talking about wine, preferably over good food with good company.  Fortunately for him, he was able to convince several local food and wine professionals to underwrite a GrassRoots TV show that allows him to enjoy all of the above.  Bernie was a print journalist in the Roaring Fork Valley for seven years, before retiring.  He previously produced and hosted "Bernie’s Midvalley Journal" on GrassRoots TV.  Bernie and his wife, Donna, have travelled extensively in Italy over the past 12 years, eating and drinking from Palermo to Balzano and many points in between.

The show’s premise is simple, exploring what makes a good wine a "value" wine, relative to its peers.  Bernie demands that his guests use a complex sensory methodology to systematically defend the choice of wines they bring to the show.  The methodology requires repeatedly sipping the suspect vintage on the air and making scientifically quantifiable statements like, "Man, that’s a real drinker," or "There’s a lot of berry for the buck in that bad boy."
