GRASSROOTS TV TO AIR MAGNUSON’S COLLECTION OF WORK
ASPEN, CO – GrassRoots TV 12, the nation’s first community television station entering its 35th anniversary year, will run “Rick Magnuson Video & Performance Art” on Monday, October 23, 2006 at 10pm for a half-hour. The program will include a collection of work including: “Blowjob,” “Hole,” “Nexploitation,” “Swim,” “$10,” and “Work.” Viewers can watch this program on cable-access channel 12 in the Roaring Fork Valley from Aspen to the Ranch at Roaring Fork in Carbondale, and on www.grassrootstv.org outside the viewing area.
According to community producer and performance artist, Rick Magnuson, “’Blowjob’ is about men’s terrorism on nature. In ‘Hole,’ I used my body as a metaphor for re-seeding the Earth. ‘Nexploitation’ shows how immigrants are literally carrying our country. ‘Swim’ reveals the repetition of life. Ten Bucks is about the exploitation of a certain working class. And, ‘Work’ shows how labor from that working class is taken for granted.”
GrassRoots TV 12 encourages all local residents to use this open channel of communication to strengthen the fabric of our community life. It is our mission to reduce the restrictions and barriers to television access and to help all residents create locally relevant programming that is entertaining and noteworthy.
