1st Annual GrassRoots TV “Grassies Awards” Show
to Air Live on February 2nd
Press invited to private reception with nominees.
ASPEN, CO – GrassRoots TV 12, the first community television station in the nation celebrating its 35th anniversary, is pleased to announce it will air its 1st Annual Grassies Awards Show, live on Thursday, February 2, 7-8pm at the Red Brick studio, 110 E. Hallam Street, suite 132 here, and will rebroadcast the following week.
The public is not invited to this event, but local press are cordially invited to a reception with the Grassies nominees preceding the awards event from 5:30-6:30pm at the GrassRoots TV studios. Please RSVP to Corby Anderson, 925-8000 x2.
According to Corby Anderson, station manager and executive producer at GrassRoots TV, “This year marks the 35th anniversary of the creation of GrassRoots Television, and as we were the first, also of community television. GrassRoots TV is an Aspen original, with the idea of providing access to the media for all citizens now being used in similar stations in almost every community in America. To celebrate this historic year, GrassRoots TV is kicking off a live annual production to honor the hard work and dedication of volunteer community producer’s who make GrassRoots TV the vibrant and diverse stream of relevant community information that it is.”
Nomination forms were sent to the GrassRoots TV producers in December 2005. The winners of the 17 categories will be announced live on GrassRoots TV on Thursday, February 3 from 7-8 pm. Nominee’s have been invited to the studio and may appear in person to accept their Grassies award.
Judges and hosts of the 1st Annual Grassies Awards are the GrassRoots TV staff members: Executive Director John Masters, Community Government TV Station Manager Brad Manosevitz, GTV Programming and Studio Director Ashley Allison, and GTV Station Manager and Executive Producer Corby Anderson.
GrassRoots TV’s mission is to strengthen the community by reducing the restrictions and barriers to television access and by helping all residents create locally relevant programming.
