GRASSROOTS TV HOLDS 2ND ANNUAL ASPEN POKER CHAMPIONSHIP

Door prizes include 2-year lease on Audi A4

ASPEN, CO – GrassRoots TV12, the nation’s first community television station, 1st and free for 35 years, is pleased to announce its Aspen Poker Championship presented by The Aspen Times, Thursday, November 30, 2006, 5-10pm at the Belly Up in Aspen.  Only 100 poker seats will be available as a donation to GrassRoots TV. 

Seats at the Texas Hold ‘Em poker tables will require a $250 donation in advance for a seat in the tournament.  Guest (non-players) tickets are also available for $100 in advance or $125 at the door. Both tickets include many exciting perks including complimentary food and drink, and players will receive a commemorative deck of GrassRoots TV12 playing cards.  To reserve a seat and contribute, please call GrassRoots TV, 925-8000 x5. 

Door prizes for both players and guests include a one-year lease on an Audi A4 with a value of $5,700 courtesy of Elk Mountain Motors in Glenwood Springs.  The Audi itself is valued at $34,400.  “We’re extremely excited to be supporting the first and oldest community television station in the nation,” said Joel Towbin, owner of Elk Mountain Motors.  “The freedoms of speech and expression are primary concerns to this very worthwhile and valuable organization, and to our community.” 

New for 2006 is a silent auction with many fabulous items including a week’s vacation at the prestigious Palmilla resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and exquisite jewelry from Tamsen Z Bijou and Christopher Walling including his signature fresh water pearl “X” earrings.

In addition to individual seats to play poker, sponsorship opportunities range from sponsoring a player at $250 to being title co-sponsor of the entire evening at $50,000, and include many enticing incentives to donate. Volunteers are needed to help with GrassRoots TV12’s Aspen Poker Championship. For one four-hour long shift, volunteers will receive a GrassRoots TV12 ball cap or coffee mug, commemorative playing cards, free food and good karma.  Interested volunteers can call:
