John Masters, Executive Director

John Masters joined GrassRoots TV in April 2001.  John has twenty five years experience in small market television station development, management, production, and programming. He has developed or operated five cable television stations, giving him experience in corporate, cable company, leased access and non-profit business environments.

Besides station management, John is also an award-winning video producer, having written, directed, edited or produced over 1,000 video productions before overseeing the production of nearly 4000 community productions at GrassRoots TV.  His work has appeared on all the major broadcast and cable networks.

With a dual Bachelor’s degree in both business administration and television production from the University of Oregon in 1981, John has always believed that television is most useful and relevant when created with a small, distinct audience in mind.  Since John became Executive Director, GrassRoots TV’s annual program production has more than doubled, making it one of the most prolific station operations in the nation.
